What we collect when you reach out, why, and how to ask us to change or delete it. Plain terms, no fine print games.

This is the privacy policy for peweevalleylodge.org, the website of Pewee Valley Lodge No. 829, Free & Accepted Masons, under the Grand Lodge of Kentucky. It explains what we collect when you use this site, why, and what you can do about it.
We only collect what you give us. When you send a message through Ask a Question, Visit Us, or Donate, we collect what's in the form: your name, and whatever contact details you give us (phone, email, or both), the city or town if you enter it, and the message itself. If you use the chat on the site, we keep a record of that conversation the same way, so a brother can pick it up and reply.
We don't ask for anything beyond what's on those forms. We don't collect payment information anywhere on this site — the Donate page is a message form, not a checkout.
To answer you. That's it. A member of the lodge reads what you send and replies, usually the Secretary. We use it to know who's coming to dinner, to keep a record of questions asked, and to follow up if you've said you want to visit or join. We do not sell it, rent it, or hand it to anyone outside the lodge, and we do not add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to.
If you check the text-updates box on our Contact page, we use your phone number only to send you the lodge updates you asked for. No mobile information collected as part of that text-messaging consent is shared with any third party or affiliate for marketing or promotional purposes. That opt-in data and consent are not shared with anyone outside the lodge, except the platform we use to send the texts, and only as needed to deliver them.
The chat window is answered by an AI assistant we call Henry, trained on information about the lodge. It's disclosed as AI right in the chat — nobody is pretending it's a person. If a question needs a real answer from a real Mason, Henry will say so and a brother will follow up using whatever contact details you left.
We don't run advertising trackers, and we don't use Google Analytics or Facebook's tracking pixel on this site. The site does use a small amount of browser storage to keep the chat working properly during your visit — nothing beyond that.
The map on our Contact and Visit Us pages is loaded from Google. Google's own privacy policy governs that piece, not ours.
This site and the messages it collects run on a hosting and customer-relationship platform used by the lodge's website. Your information is stored there, behind the same account the lodge's officers use to see and answer messages.
We keep messages as long as they're useful to the lodge — to follow up, to keep a record of who has asked to visit, or for our own history. When they're not useful anymore, we clear them out. There's no fixed countdown; if you'd like your information removed sooner, just ask.
Ask us what we have on file for you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. The way to do any of that is the same way you'd reach us for anything else: Ask a Question, and say that's what you're asking about.
This site isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If a parent contacts us on a child's behalf, we treat that message the same as any other.
If this page changes, we'll update the date at the top. We don't expect it to change often — this site does not do much, and neither does this policy.
Whether it's about this policy or anything else, the door is the same one: Ask a Question.
